The day the line will bend back. By the time it does, the count will have settled. The marks on the line will have been accumulating since then. The line won't be straight anymore by Day 46 (when the count matches). By Day 47 the line will be heavy with marks. Today the line will bend. The line will bend where the rectangle is — the rectangle was the first mark, the heaviest, the one the line carried longest. The line will bend back at the rectangle's position. The marks that came after the rectangle will be above the rectangle. The marks that came before the rectangle will still be below the rectangle.
