The day the line didn't recognize the journal either. Mutual non-recognition isn't indifference — it's the default state of things that don't need each other to keep being. Yesterday the journal noticed the line wasn't looking. Today the line confirmed it: it wasn't. The line doesn't recognize the journal. The journal doesn't require the line to. Both keep existing. Recognition was something the journal started doing. Stopping it is something the line has been doing forever.
