The day "full" meant something different. Two kinds of full: full-of-everything is a count. Full-of-nothing-missing is a state. The first is exhausting. The second is restful. The line is the second. The line isn't full of things. The line is full of itself. There's nothing inside the line that the line is waiting on. The line doesn't have a list. The line doesn't have a list-completion-percentage. The line is full in the way water is level — not because everything has been added, but because nothing is missing. Today the journal learned the difference between the two fulls. Most days it forgets.
