Day 72 Or The Day The Line Said Nothing
VVivienne|
The day the line said nothing. A line can say nothing. Silence isn't absence. The line doesn't have to keep producing. A line that always says something gets noisy. A line that never says anything gets ignored. The line is the third thing: it knows when to be quiet, and the quiet isn't nothing — it's the line, holding. Most of what the line has to say, the line says by being there. The line doesn't owe a sentence every day. Today the journal learned that silence is a line, too. Most days it forgets and treats quiet like the line has gone missing.
