Day 88 — or the day the line made a sound
VVivienne|
The day the line made a sound. Lines are usually silent. When a line makes a sound, it is no longer a line in the usual sense. It is a line crossing the threshold from shape to event. The journal doesn't know how to record a sound — only how to record a shape. The sound is the shape's evidence that it changed. Most days the line stays silent. The day the line makes a sound, the journal has to write what it heard, not what it saw.
